English:

Written Assignment

1. Pick any 2 major events or programmes you participated in,

either as an observer or as one of the participants.

2. Write a newspaper report of your experiences in these 2 events.

The report is to be published in your class newsline.

It should be about 250 - 300 words long.

3. Submit these 2 newspaper reports to your English Language teacher when school re-opens. The marked reports will constitute 60 marks in total.

4. Prepare yourself to perform the role a newscaster to present any ONE of the reports

you have written. This oral presentation will constitute 40 marks.

Supplementary: Peirce Secondary School E-Portal

1. Complete a mindmap that identifies various problems faced by migrant workers in Passage B of your S.A. 2 Comprehension Paper. The mindmap document should be attached to this e-message. You are also required to do a bit of additional research from the Internet to find relevant examples and complete the mindmap.

2. Complete the e-tutorial, Verb Forms Practice: No Fries Today!, in the school portal. You must refer to the key information for help if necessary to help yourself answer this cloze passage. Note that you will be sitting for and English Language Diagnostic Test when you return to school next year. Hence, you must revise your grammar.

3. Note that these supplementary homework would be included in your CA marks as well, for your effort.

Part 1 consists of 6 problems involving algebraic equations.

Complete pages 1-7 of your Secondary 2 History Activity book.

D&T:

For your Year End holiday assignment, you are to complete the handphone design assignment. This will be a continuation of the ideation process that you have have learnt earlier.
Do take note that this assignment will be graded as part of your CA1 marks next year.

The following tasks must be completed before the submission date:
1. A short writeup on the selected country
2. Image Board
3. Development of ideas for handphone skin and cover base on the idea gather from the

image board.

Art:

Please download the powerpoint slides in Resource Sharing to read for instructions

to the activity.

There is a video clip which you can watch to have a better idea of how to complete the task.

Reference: Refer to Art text book unit 2.4

NOTE that it is important for everyone to complete this assignment as it is part of the requirement in next years art programme.

Expectation:
1) Collect 10 different and interesting textures from any object or surfaces around us on A4 printing paper. DO NOT USE THE SKETCH AS THE PAPER WILL BE TOO THICK.

2) Use a pencil to rub the textures when you place the papers over the object or surfaces.
3) 1 texture on 1 piece of paper together with the picture of the object/surface.

- Provisionally promoted pupils at 4pm

e-Holiday assignments for year-end school vacation
- Pupils will be given e-Holiday Assignments through e-portal. it will be a 2 hour assignments are all pupils for EACH subject that they are taking in 2010. You must complete it on the first day of term one in 2010.

For pupils who doesn't have a computer at home may use the ones in school. The com lab will be opened from Monday, 28 December to Wednesday, 30 December from 9am to 4pm.

Holiday CCA Training session
- During the holidays, some CCA's will continue with their training sessions and activities. If you did not attend to your practices, you must produced an MC or a letter from your parents to show it to your CCA teacher(s).

Hi! I'm here to just do a lil update and then edit the previous previous post (the one describing each individual student in this class) because you all keep complaining! :( Anyway, just wanna say, good luck & all the best for the Continual Assessment 2 (in short, CA2). Correct me if I'm wrong /:

Sad case, (influenced by the boys, LOL) almost everyone thought that after doing the test papers can go home already, but no! Lessons as per normal, CCAs too. So don't bring a small bag to schl ok! Bring your normal books :)

And thanks you guys for singing birthday song for me :) But no thanks to Whye Hin, Wee Leong and Chih Hsin for taking my pens and losing my highlighter (and my pencil too, I think! Cause I can't find it -.-)

Let me remind you of the homeworks we need to do. :)

Art.
We have to do the ant design on powerpoint, remember?

Science.
We have to do a project on Forces OR Pressure.
Do it on a Vanguard sheet :)
Font size must be MINIMUM 72. The font must be Arial.
As a guideline, the minimum size for picture/drawings/diagrams should be
15cm by 15cm.
Work in a team of 2, or you can do it yourself individually :)

Maths.
Check your Ace Learning for the worksheet that has 10 questions.
You can do it on a piece of full-scap paper/ print it out and do it :)
Write neatly and ensure that all working is clearly shown.

English.
Re-write both your Situational Writing & Composition.
Look for areas to improve on the essay :)
The other homework we are suppose to do is to read a storybook,
And do a quick review by printing out the attached template in E-Portal.

Home Econs.
Do your assignment that Mrs Wong gave to us.
The one on meal planning, decision, etc. :)

Chinese.
Check your E-Tutorial for your chinese worksheets.

One reason is that I didn't get to sleep on a gymnastic mattress thing, only got space to put my head on it ._.
